Hi everyone with Windows 98SE!
Because of DOS and earlier Windows applications I'm keeping, I'm keeping and using Windows 98SE. Right now, upgrading OS on this Pentium III 440 MMX, 655MB memory, twin SATA 20GB HDs, is not on my to-do list.
Concerning security, along with only going to known good sites, along with using common sense with emails, I use: Tiny Personal Firewall, Avast!, SpyBot S&D, SUPER Anti-Spyware, Spyware Blaster, Spyware Guard.
Anyone interested in exchanging ideas, comments, suggestions, etc. how to better live with the Old Ways? If anyone's interested, while we cannot "share files" [even amongst apps we license], we can share ideas! I learned from another thread that we cannot and ought not provide missing files even for apps we license.
Ok, let's share ideas for improved OPs, security, and the like. I will begin with one tidbit, I did try buying 512 mem sticks, because of incompatability of old and new, I had to return to my 655MB configuration. Your turn!
Hi Roland, my personal fav. apps are in my profile.

Just run the apps you can't run on your other systems and leave the rest of your computing to the newer & updated hardware.
If your Windows 98SE computer is your only working computer, consider purchasing another and disconnect the W98SE from all internet and
do the same as above. You could also check your DOS programs for compatibility with XP.
For memory you might have better luck finding something off ebay or Craig's List that will be compatible with your hardware.
There's a very good chance you arn't the only one using older hardware. Do a thorough search based on very specific make/model information.
Thanks Roderunner for the informative posts! I'll keep this thread in mind when monies and motivation are enough for a change.
