I have a Dell desktop running on Vista. Over the last few week, it has crashed several times. When it crashes, the screen goes blank, and the computer beeps regularly. When I shut it down, and leave it for a few minutes, it works fine again. The interval between crashes has been between a few hours and 8 days.
It reports that "Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown, and gives the problem signature as Event Name : Blue Screen, Locale ID 2057. This is the same each time. while the other information provided varies each time.
I've run the Dell Support program to give the system history, and am attaching the reports it provides on two of the crash incidents. They seem to be related to a program called wlanutl.exe.
Any advice on what I should do will be gratefully received.
