Mp3Jam (feedback on article "Apps for building and organizing a music libr"
The article entitled "Apps for building and organizing a music library" (Windows Secrets Newsletter • Issue 384 • 2013-05-02) interested me, especially the recommendation of mp3jam, which enables easy downloading of audio from YouTube and conversion to the mp3 format. There are online services that do the same thing, as well as Audacity, which records audio as it's output to your speakers, but mp3jam sounded like it might be a convenient alternative. Having given it an initial try, I don't think it's a keeper. It works by asking you to enter a search for a YouTube item. Unfortunately, in my testing, the search does not work well. It failed to find YouTube videos that I know are there--which, in fact, I can see in my browser right now. There aren't many options, but be sure to click on the star near the top right to access the few that are available.
