Recovering Win 8.1 System Backup of UEFI Booted System With Acronis TI
I have Windows 8.1 installed on a Basic GPT disk for UEFI boot. I have created a full System Image backup on a removable USB hard drive using Acronis True Image (TI) 2014. If I have reason to recover the full system image, am I correct regarding the following:
1. I will have to boot into BIOS and make the necessary change to allow MBR boot from the TI Recovery Disk.
2. I will use TI to recover the System image from the removable USB hard drive.
3. I must then restart the PC via BIOS setup to enable UEFI boot once again.
4. And "Voila" my system will have been fully recovered.....or am I incorrect?
In other words: Will the TI System image be a full backup of the entire system disk (in other words, will it include the EFI partition and the other "compulsory" partitions, or not? If not, how else would I restore a corrupted system disk without a clean installation of all software?
