MaximumPC has bee talking about this for a while; doesn't seem to be anything new on the SATA front; maxed out at 600MB/s or so while PCIe 3 is about 70% faster and has gobs of bandwidth.
Stands to reason right now that only PCIe 3 interface will allow the exceedingly fast next generation of SSDs to run at full speed. Possibly Thunderbolt but I think everyone is settling on PCIe 3 for now.
Personally seeing 205MB/s transfer speeds once in a while gives me all the "wow" factor I need. :o:
@billrice and F.U.N. downtown,
1GB/s! PCIe3! Yeah, I'm interested! (But interest must = wallet size. I'll check the latter from time to time.)
Thanks for the info.
