Thunderbird Ver. 31
Over the years with all the constant updates to Thunderbird somewhere along the line it just has developed some glitches.
Like problems with stationary and account settings and signatures etc...
It works fine but some of the above mentioned features are really just messed up.
The particulars aren't important, what's important is I would like to un-install it COMPLETELY and then re-install it.
But, I don't want to lose all my email etc.
Is it possible to export all my email and then import it back into to re-installed version of Thunderbird?
Use Mozbackup http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/ for your emails. Then use Revo Uninstaller Free http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_..._download.html to completely remove TBIRD. I suggest the most aggressive settings. The re-install and use Mozbackup to to restore the emails.
I have Revo Pro and figured to use that.
It was the email backup that I was mostly concerned about and your link for mozbackup seems to be just what I need.
I will d/l that and do the re-install tomorrow.
I would make a copy of your profile folder before that. Juuuust incase...
And thanks to thomasjk for the reminder that mozbackup can back up Thunder bird I will be trying that myself. But I will still copy the profile folder...
Wavy, I can't seem to find that profile folder you mentioned.
Where is it?
I looked in the Mozilla TB folder and didn't see any profile folder.
Launch TB and look in Account Settings -> Server Settings -> Local directory. That will point you to the profile folder. Copy the entire profile folder, not just the subfolder pointed to by "Local directory".
Thanks DG, I found it..
I'll try to do all this tomorrow..
It seems being retired I hardly have any time for anything!
I had to look it up because I changed the location of mine to put it on a separate drive ;)
oops did not read your post carefully.
And dg's method is easier:cool:
