  1. Re: Keyboard shortcuts in global templates won't work (2007)

Ah! Thank you, Hans and Kim.

I usually take my global templates out of Startup before modifying them. That's what I did when I added the shortcut keys.

After reading your replies, I opened the...
  2. Keyboard shortcuts in global templates won't work (2007)

Hello. We have a global template (.dotm) containing macros and keyboard shortcuts to those macros. The template is in c:program filesmicrosoft officeoffice12startup, a Trusted Location.

    The...
  3. Re: Macros unavailable in protected 2007 templates (Word 2007/VBA)

    Jan,

Sorry to hear that! At least Microsoft is consistent. <img src=/S/crazy.gif border=0 alt=crazy width=15 height=15>

I'm guessing it's an unexpected side effect of the new xml document...
  4. Macros unavailable in protected 2007 templates (Word 2007/VBA)

    Greetings, everyone.

It seems that protecting a Word 2007 template renders its macros unavailable to documents based on the template.

I created a Word 2007 template, added form fields and...
  5. Re: Custom image on custom UI button via vba (Office 2007)

(Edited by HansV to make URL clickable - see <!help=19>Help 19<!/help>)

Not exactly. I had already added the "image" tag in customUI.xml. I then needed to associate the image with the Ribbon and...
  6. Re: Custom image on custom UI button via vba (Office 2007)

Unfortunately, no. That article explains how to do it with a VSTO project, which is what I'm trying to avoid.
  7. Custom image on custom UI button via vba (Office 2007)

    Hello all.

I'd like to display a custom image on a button I've added to Word's 2007 UI. The catch is that I want to do it using only xml and vba code.

    Here's the scenario: I've got a Word 2007...
  8. Re: Access deleting Redemption dll (VBA 6.3, Outlo

We don't use sagescript to install.

We're using Access 2000 with Windows XP Professional 2002 SP2.

Apparently the problem doesn't happen when the Access code is run uncompiled. But when the...
  9. Re: Access deleting Redemption dll (VBA 6.3, Outlo

As I said in my original posting, the dll is deleted from the pc.

We install the dll via a VB program that downloads it from our network and then registers it. However, the problem also occurs...
  10. Re: Access deleting Redemption dll (VBA 6.3, Outlo

Thanks but we're positive it's something happening during the running of the Access code.
  11. Re: Access deleting Redemption dll (VBA 6.3, Outlo

That's a very good point. I'll pass it along to the programmer. Thank you!
  12. Re: Access deleting Redemption dll (VBA 6.3, Outlook 2002/2003, Access 200

I agree. I'm being asked to investigate it because (a) I'm the one who customized the Redemption dll for our firm and (/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif I'm the one who created the script that...
  13. Access deleting Redemption dll (VBA 6.3, Outlook 2002/2003, Access 2000/20

Hello to all. I'm hoping you can help me with a weird problem: Access is removing our Redemption dll.

One of our Access programmers references the Redemption dll in his code. He uses Redemption...
  14. Re: Redemptin & meeting invitation (Outlook 2002)

Thank you thank you thank you! It worked.

It was indeed the address resolution that was the sticking point. Without it, no email got sent. With it, a perfect meeting request was sent.

    You have...
  15. Redemption & meeting invitation (Outlook 2002)

Hello. I'm writing a script to invite Outlook users to a meeting. As written, the script creates an appointment in the sender's calendar, which is fine. It also sends an appointment email to the...
  16. Re: Redemptin & meeting invitation (Outlook 2002)

I'm not sure what the problematic property is. I do set the MeetingStatus on the underlying Outlook object. When I Send, I Send the Redemption meeting object to avoid the security warnings.

    As far...
  17. Re: Redemptin & meeting invitation (Outlook 2002)

    Charlotte,

If I tell it to do the same thing without using Redemption - i.e., have it send an appointment item with the MeetingStatus set to 1 - the recipient receives a meeting invitation (with...
  18. Re: Redemptin & meeting invitation (Outlook 2002)

Actually, I'm not using the pre-defined Outlook constant names, but am defining my own constant names. Hence, oMeeting = 1 and oAppointment = 1.

As long as I defined them as constants with the...

And we poor IT guys get stuck in the middle!

  20. Re: Intercepting meeting requests (Outlook 2002 SP-2)

    John,

Thanks for the suggestion. We've pointed out the benefits of automatic calendaring to this user, to no avail. He is an attorney and a partner, and is used to getting his own way...

  21. Intercepting meeting requests (Outlook 2002 SP-2)

Hello, all. Does anyone know of a way to intercept meeting requests, so that they don't appear on your calendar until AFTER you've accepted them?

I'm kind of doubtful, myself, as this would be...
  22. Re: Global template suddenly causes serious error

    Pete,

Thanks for the suggestion. We try to avoid having any code in our Normal.dot, though, to keep things simple.

I've made the Normal.dot on our Citrix server read-only, to see if that helps....
  23. Re: Global template suddenly causes serious error

    Pete,

Thanks for the idea about timing the loading of our templates.

I'm probably not explaining things very well, but we don't actually load the global templates programmatically. We just put...
  24. Re: Global template suddenly causes serious error

    Pete,

Thanks for the suggestions. Here's our story:

    1. Our Normal.dot is small - only 42 Kb.

    2. There is no code in our Normal.dot.

    3. Our Word startup files total only about 1.2 Mb.
  25. Re: Global template suddenly causes serious error

    Karen,

Thanks for the good suggestions. I'll double-check our user permissions. We've been considering putting a Normal.dot in each user's profile rather than having them share one.

    Bob
