    Re: MRAM

True, has been in the works since at least 1995 with DARPA and IBM, maybe earlier,
here is a better interpretation of the concept.

    MRAM

I frequently trade stocks and recently bought some of a company that is developing MRAM . Won't say which company I bought, but from what I understand most technical problems are beginning to be...

I'm hanging with Hans for a while, waiting on a nibble!
  4. Re: How good are you at spotting phishing scams?

LOL, probably make tons more cash and have fewer headaches! Maybe I could upgrade to XP pretty cheap?

Re: Non-stick browning plate for microwave

I don't think you can put metal in a microwave Howard.

And here is the actual address from the link in the email,
  7. Re: How good are you at spotting phishing scams?

Here is the source screen capture, I cannot remember if there is a way to post two attachments in the same post, so here goes the second.
  8. Re: How good are you at spotting phishing scams?

This is way too cool, I received two today and was just about to post it as a warning, and then I saw this thread. Take a look at the one I received today (got the same message twice). It fooled...

    Re: Dial-up networking

Just on the outside chance that this is related to the DUN greyed out password box issue, you might search for and delete all *.pwl files. The pwl files are password files and are recreated as...

Re: PC beeping on boot up

No, I don't use any mobo software. Was the fan running when you looked inside? Pretty easy to upgrade to a new motherboard for not much dough though if you think that's the problem.

    Re: pcAnywhere

In my PCAnywhere folder I have a folder named CMS. It appears that this folder contains individual host and remote control files/settings for each of the connection items. Clicking on these files...

    Re: pcAnywhere

I haven't used PCAnywhere in a long time, but in (9.2, I thought it was 9.0), there is a data conversion on the tools menu. Not sure if it exists in 11.0, or maybe it's in a different place??

    Re: pcAnywhere

Never have done it, but you might try the Data Conversion Menu (at least in 9.0), export to a text file, then import the connection items to the new pc??

You might also remove the side from the box and watch it while it runs.

    Re: Music Splitting Software

I would be very interested in what brand of machine it is, as both my girls can be heard just before bedtime singing in the bathroom (while they are supposed to be brushing their teeth!)

    Re: Music Splitting Software

I know of software that can cut, fade in and out, etc, but none that can remove the singing and leave the soundtrack only. Would seem to me that this is not possible digitally because the nature of...

Gotta give a strong second to Avast...works nicely, smooth def upgrades, even some pretty cool skins. A+ in my opinion.

If you really want to be free of popups and have the best browser around take Mozilla for a test browse. I'm still using version 1.4 and there is nothing I do not like about it. It coexists with...

Re: Computer has gone belly up

Possibly, or maybe the fan quit and it got to hot, maybe a fuse blew, maybe there's a ghost in the machine, maybe a couple of hundred other things.

I would suggest a new power supply for the first step (the power motor thingy)! Relatively easy to replace, just make sure to take a look at where all the plugs are plugged into before you take the...

Would suggest this as a permanent solution in any system that has a mobo with on-board video. Mobos with onboard video tend to have more quirks and problems with the video trace than a mobo without...

I'm assuming that the mobo has on board video. I think I would get a stand alone video card, AGP if there is a slot, or PCI if you must and try that since they are relatively inexpensive for an...
