  1. Re: Quick Launch and Folder Settings (Xp-SP1)

Interesting idea. I set up a new account and Windows Explorer discovered its memory, for that account only, with each reboot. However, Quick Launch became mindless again after I rebooted. So it seems...
  2. Quick Launch and Folder Settings (Xp-SP1)

My very recent upgrade from Win ME to XP-SP 1 home edition went, in general, quite well. There are, however, two annoyances that I have been unable to resolve and would very much appreciate help...
  3. Re: compile error in hidden module (Word 2000)

It was the *tmp files that did it. Phil Rabichow's post should be mandatory reading for anyone with a word problem. Thank you for reminding me of it.
But now the academic question: what does compile...
  4. compile error in hidden module (Word 2000)

After removing WOPR 2000 (don't ask), I find that I can no longer create a new file, nor can I save files. Instead, I get the error message "compile error in hidden module: FileSaveAs" or "compile...

    Windows Explorer (XP pro)

I once knew how to force the windows explorer to open at the hard drive, C:, rather than at "my documents." Can anyone remind me of how to do that?
    Many thanks
  8. Re: Dual Boot from 2nd Hard Drive (XP-Home Edition)

There must be some sort of work-around to Ma Dell. Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Many thanks.

  9. Re: Dual Boot from 2nd Hard Drive (XP-Home Edition)

Except for having to change the D: in your suggestion to F: (for some reason the slave is my F drive, the D is my CD, probably because I added that second drive last), I followed every step...
  10. Dual Boot from 2nd Hard Drive (XP-Home Edition)

I just added the hard drive from an old Windows ME computer as a slave to my XP (home edition) Dell computer (that is, Win XP was loaded onto the computer first, then, later, I added the second hard...

Re: Pictures in return address (Word 2000)

Thank you, I now have the return address I wanted with my logo next to the text, using the EnvelopeExtra1 approach.
What I don't quite understand is, when I try to change the return address by...

Pictures in return address (Word 2000)

Phil (post 41509) had an interesting response to post 15895 (Pictures in labels) and I wonder if there is something like that for envelopes.
I would like to put a graphic to the left of my return...
  13. Re: Out of Memory error message (Office 2000 SR1)

Phil, you are a genius. While I always clear temp files with each boot-up, I never thought to replace my normal.dot file. That was it; it obviously became corrupted. Since I tend to keep backups of...
  14. Re: Out of Memory error message (Office 2000 SR1)

Yes, those were the files, I did delete and reinstall, then deleted and installed the same files from an older Office 2000 (pre-SR-1) in case the files on the CD itself were corrupted but still have...
  15. Out of Memory error message (Office 2000 SR1)

I just upgraded from Office 97 to Office 2000 SR 1 and get an error message "out of memory" whenever I try to open Word (Excel and Powerpoint open just fine). I went to MS knowledge base, followed...
