Yesterday I removed Macrium Reflect from my machine, purchased the paid version and then reinstalled and re-created the rescue media.
I then tested this set up by restoring a recent image.
This is what I was referring to...not sure how it differs from the procedure you outlined.
So your experience with Macrium restores is different to mine?
From what I've read, you need the "pro" version to backup file and folders.
As I stated in my original post, after successfully restoring, I noticed that Windows System Restore had been turned off and all restore points were missing.
