    Re: Parsing / delimited dates (2003 SP2)

Thank you, Hans! As an old boss used to say: "May you receive your reward in your next life."

Well, I hope it comes sooner than that.

    Re: Parsing / delimited dates (2003 SP2)

Ah, Hans, you are far from the ignorant one here. Fiscal Year is simply the yyyy in mm/dd/yyyy (for example - 2007).

    Re: Parsing / delimited dates (2003 SP2)

Hans, thank you for your response. I don't understand the calculation. Not that this is relevant, but my field is entitled Accrual Date. It's downloaded with other data from a table I've imported...

    Re: Excel formula prob (2003)

Jerry, I love a man (?) who can feel my pain... Yes, this sytem is on its way out, too - we're preparing to invest in a microsoft partnered windows based oil & gas accounting system, so what I'm...

    Re: Excel formula prob (2003)

Legare, your trick of adding the +0 to the VLOOKUP formula sounds like an excellent one. I will give it a try next time I run into this problem (which will most likely be tomorrow). Thank you. ...

    Re: Excel formula prob (2003)

Jerry, thanx for your response. Yes, I should have held off before converting my data so I could supply a sample. It's been a couple of years since I've posted here, and I had forgotten people...

    Re: Excel formula prob (2003)

Jerry and Hans, unfortunately (for purposes of an example) I can't provide an example because I just fixed the problem by going back to the downloaded data whose results I need to use in the VLOOKUP...

Column D is formatted as general (I've tried reformatting it to text and back again, but it doesn't help). Thanx. Hans.

    Re: Excel formula prob (2003)

Hi, Jezza and Hans. Here's the crazy thing I'm trying to do (and I do it frequently with concatenate). Column C is a 10 digit number currently formatted as text (I tried formatting it as general,...

    Excel formula prob (2003)

I'm having a problem with CONCATENATE that I also have sometimes with VLOOKUP. The formula result I'm getting in cell D25 is =CONCATENATE(B25,C25) instead of a combination of the contents of the two...
  13. Re: Sort names in report if expression joins first/las (XP)

I certainly agree with what you're saying about Microsoft's marketing. A clue I had early on was back in the days. MS gave free unlimited tech support for all products except Access, where it...

Thanx, Simon. I'll try to absorb all this tonight when I get home (which is where what I'm working on is!).

  15. Re: Sort names in report if expression joins first/las (XP)

Hi, Hans. Thanx for your reply. No, I don't know how or why I used a combo box either. I realize now I could've used the company header for what I want - I'll look more closely at your and...
  16. Sort names in report if expression joins first/las (XP)

I'm almost done (I think). One of the query based reports in the directory I've created uses a combo box to list companies with their employee representatives under the company name. I can't get...

Re: 'Recall this message' options (2000)

The worst thing it does - and it's even worse than not working - is that it sends a message to the party from whom you tried to recall that you tried to recall the message. That tends to draw even...

Re: Using XP database in 2000 (2002/2000)

This sounds good. I haven't changed any defaults, so if it's defaulting to 2000, looks like I'm in good shape. I'll know more tomorrow when I try to do this from the office!

    Thanx again,...
  20. Re: Page Member value-custom pagesize setup (XP)

Thanx, Wendell - I think I'll do that fiddling. I'm needing to print it on any size paper for camera ready copy to be printed on 5.5 x 8.5. I'll just do the top and left margins as I would in word...

Using XP database in 2000 (2002/2000)

I have XP (where I created the database and report) at home but 2000 at the office. I want to print the report I've been bugging everybody about on the office laser instead of my home inkjet, but...

  24. Re: Aligning Text to Bottom in Report Datafield (2002)
