    You usually DO need to hunt under labels for screws to remove and some older ones have a sealing tape around the perimeter of the case....

    Some sound system connections are multi function and some how detect what is plugged into them. Just a guess but maybe try to plug in a head phone and test. pull the connector in and out a few times...

    Again not sure if it is what you want but Thunderbird has an import function.(Tools\Import) I do not use Outlook and can not experiment but if you have a running copy of Outlook that should work.
