Who cares?
Thanks to everyone. I now have a solution to my problem.
I have name and address data imported from Outlook in an Excel 2010 data sheet. For some reason there is an apostrophe (') at the beginning of each field. The apostrophe doesn't show up in any of the...
I had a similar problem with a friend's laptop running Vista after installing a new router. The laptop used a wireless connection and it indicated that the connection was successful. However IE and...
A friend of mine had a similar problem after installing a new wireless router. His wife's laptop running Vista and Windows Mail used a wireless connection and it showed that the wireless connection...
I couldn't agree more with Pam. Enter/Edit all of your text first (perhaps adding comments to remind you where to add inserts). Then insert pictures or other entities (text boxes, etc.) starting at...
Thanks for your suggestions. My friend ran out of patience and bought a new router. I'll have to wait and see if that solves her problem.
It will take me some time as it is a friend's computer and they live several miles away. I'll see if I can get them to do it.
Probably not as IE9 doesn't connect on my friend's wireless network. So how do we make sure it gets a valid IP?
I don't think there is anything wrong with the WiFi adapter because the laptop works flawlessly on other wireless networks. It seems to me that there must be something wrong with that particular...
We followed all the instructions that came with the router including inserting the CD into the laptop and letting it configure away. So something is missing. I just don't know what. To repeat. The...
Earlier this year I posted a query about a friend's Vista laptop that couldn't connect via a new wireless router. At the time I thought it was a computer problem because all indications were that the...

After performing several dozen installations of Microsoft Security Essentials I ran into one case on a friend's XP SP3 computer where MSE doesn't automatically start on boot up. She has to manually...
Try this. Move your cursor pointer to the very top edge of the "paper". You should see a double headed up/down arrow inside a small box. Double click and see if your top and bottom margins show up.
PPSFix did it! Thanks.
Now that's a great idea. Thanks.
That's basically what I did. I created new linked tables and deleted the old ones. At least that works.
It's definitely the right router as it has that router's SSID.
I didn't try 127.0.0.1, but I removed the saved profile a couple of times and re-entered it along with the passcode to no effect.
I'll have to try that one.
The PPSFix.exe program did the trick. Thanks.
It's odd, but I believe I got the "Reply from 192.168.1.116 host unreachable" message when I pinged the DNS Server at 209.18.47.61.
I've also been advised to reset the tcp/ip setup, but I"m not sure...
I'll give that link a try and report back.
