    Report Header (2003)

    Hello,
I have a report where I have a heading and I want to pull whether it is IP or OP and I can tell that by the table I have. The table is set up with Code-1 or 2, Code description - IP or OP, and select which is yes or no. I want the report to find the code description where the select is set to true. I have used =IIf(tblmetcatcode![Select]=-1,tblmetcatcode!Medcatcodedesc,Null) but I get a return of #name? Where am I going wrong?

Is tblmetcatcode part of the Record Source of the report?

no.I am sorry it brings back error and before the report is run it asks for a parmater value. I am trying to reference what type of report it is by putting this in the header of the report. This table also exists a subform with the description and select column with the select column being a check box and that allows users to pick what type of report to run: IP or OP. Is there another way to do that?

You cannot directly refer to fields in a table that is not part of the record source of the report. Perhaps you can use DLookup, but we'd need to know much more about your database.
