setting default browser (IE 5, NS 4.72, Opera 5.12)

I have the above three browsers installed (I just installed Opera and really like it, especially how much easier - less mouse clicks - to add bookmarks to a folder, I hate that part in IE). My question is that I can't remember how to set any given browser as the default when a link is clicked. Right now IE comes up if no other browser is open. I do not have IE set to think it's the default though. What's the trick to defining this? I want to make NS the default (or Opera if I can).

    Try <A target="_blank" HREF=http://home.netscape.com/browsers/using/ieusers/start/default.html>this page</A> at Netscape.

yup, that link did it! The actual file to change, prefs.js, was in a hidden folder not quite where they said it was, but close enough (I have Win2k) for me to find it.
