Calculation (Excel 2002)

I want to create a formula in B2, The starting value in B4 is decreased when by value is enter in B5, and then that value is decreased by the value entered in B6. So that the value in B2 is constantly being decreased by the values entered through out the range B5:B65536. Thanks a Bunch!

Does this do what you want?

    =B4-SUM(B5:B65536)

    Re: Calculation (Excel 2002)

    Hans,
I'm sorry - yes you gave me what I requested but I realized after I hit the post button. I wanted the opposite. Let's say that B4 = 2120, B5=2000 , B2 is now = 120 .. I want to be able to determine what the difference from the starting point of B4. B4- (B5 thru B65536)

I don't really understand your description, but perhaps you mean this?

    =B4-INDEX(B5:B65536,MATCH(9.99999999999999E+307,B5:B65 536))

This will subtract the last filled in entry in column B from B4.

You are so Fantastic! You totally understood what I was saying. I have to admit even I was confused. Thanks again, I can see clearly now :-)
