    mysterious format change (2003/SP2)

Hi. Probably a very easy question for the person who knows ...

I gave a protected sheet to somebody for data input purposes. Somehow -- probably via some mistaken quick-key or mouse-click combination -- the format has changed such that all formulas are now visible.
For example if the formula was =COUNT() and the value of 100 was showing in the cell, now I see only =COUNT() in the cell as if it's a literal. And if I unprotect the sheet and try to add additional formulas such as =D4, that's all I see in the cell. As if I typed in '=D4. (Although I can tell it's still a formula because when I click in that cell, it highlights the D4 cell). Where is the mysterious setting that causes this behavior?

    Thanks, Mike

You can toggle the display of formulas on and off in the View tab of Tools | Options...
The keyboard shortcut for this toggle is <code>Ctrl+`</code>

Select Options from the Tools menu. Click on the View tab and make sure that there is NOT a tick mark next to Formulas in the Window Options section.

OK so maybe not so mysterious after all. Thanks a lot. It would have taken me forever to find that.
