Horizontal scrollbar in folder list (Outlook 2003)

Subject edited by HansV to aid in future searches

Does anyone know a reliable way to invoke the horizontal scrollbar in the folders listing (LHS) of Outlook? I got it once, by accident, and would like to keep it there as I scroll through nested folders.

    TIA

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

The horizontal scrollbar is only available in the Folders List, not when looking at Mail or Calendar. Could that be the explanation?

    HansV:

    Thanks for replying.

What I'm asking is .. how can I reliably get the scrollbar in the folders list section of Outlook. Right now, I have a demarcation between the folders list and things like Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Tasks with a line that has a series of dots in it. I'd like to replace this dotted line with a horizontal scrollbar.

    Thanks again.

Change your Navigation Pane View to Folders List View by clicking on the Folder List Icon at the bottom of the Pane.

    John:

I'm not talking about the vertical scrollbar, in the folder listing section, but a horizontal scrollbar that would be above categories like: Mail, Calendar, Contacts, Notes, etc.

I had it once, don't know how, really liked it, lost it and would like to get it back again.

    Thanks,

    B. Z.

So am I , BZ. Depending on your Navigation Pane layout you should have one of the two icons circled in red - click it. As Hans correctly pointed out, it is only in Folder List Navigation Pane View that the horizontal scroll bar is available.

(I deleted an earlier post because I initially missed the point that you were asking about the horizontal bar, not the vertical one.)

That looks great! I'm going to try it out when I get home tonight.

Apologize for the delay. Just want Hans and John to know what they suggested works fine.

Clicking on the folders icon brings up the horizontal scrollbar which is what I was after.

Thanks for your prompt assistance to my problem{?}.
