    Wordpad Default Font (XP Sp-2)

Is there a way to change the starting (default) font for Wordpad?

    Regards,

    Chuck,
You should be able to open WordPad and then Format>Font.
Select your choice of Fonts and size etc. and OK out.

    Chuck,
After a little more checking around, I found that that method may not work at all.
Apparently Wordpad uses the SYSTEM DEFAULT FONT, rather than it's own as a default. It will change for that particular document but then revert back to System Default.

That is one of the reasons that very few people even fire up WordPad. <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>

    Dave:

Yea, I'm going back to Cetus Wordpad... Only diffs are default fonts for doc types and a spell checker. I've still got a copy, and I've written them to see if I can get a link.

    Hans:

Certainly I bow to your experience... but Wordpad (or in my case Cetus Wordpad) is a solution for rtf and doc formats when, for whatever reason, Word is unavailable, isn't it? I mean, call me paranoid, as I understand this would **never** happen, as Word and Office in general are known for their stability and total lack of incidents. Also, it gives a *slightly* less "padded" app for the times when all you need a quick note or such.

In addition, if there are any fools out there like me, Office/Word might not even be installed during system "adjustments", and this keeps you up and running.

    Regards,
    Chuck

Geez, that's right! I forgot about good ol' able to carry docs in several formats Notepad! How the heck could I, and as a matter of fact Microsoft, forgotten about that?!

"quick note or such." and that is where NotePad comes in.

I'm well aware that Wordpad can be very handy at times when you can't or won't use Word, butin such situations I wouldn't be worrying about default fonts, I'd just use it as it comes. And if you use it for reading existing .rtf or .doc files, the default font doesn't play a role.
