    USB ports (SP2)

    When ever i plugg a device on my usb ports it is not displayed on my computer. I have to go to My computer - > Disk Management - > and then add a letter to the drive but still cannot access the device e.g. usb key from my computer. I then have to right click on the device - >Click on Properties - > Volumes -> Populate in order for me to view the data. I have to do the same thing for all the devices on all the USB's. Does anyone know how to fix this USB problem?

    It was working fine, it stopped working a month ago.

    Great, this thing tends to happen after installation of a device or new software. I would suggest you do a System Restore, it got me out of a hole very recently with a similar problem.

    Start | Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Restore

    then follow instructions to a date "about a month ago", no data or applications will be lost if installed or saved since that time.

    Do you have a list of everything you installed between when it was working and when it stopped working?

    I am assuming by that short reply, that my suggestion did not work....did you actually try it and if so were there any messages resulting from it?
