    Windows Explorer search problem (SP2)

When I do a file search in Windows Explorer, it nags me to "insert the last disc of a multi-volume set", or something like that...
Should I tell it not to look into compressed folders? If so, how would I do that?
Otherwise, how do I avoid the issue?

What drives are selected in the "Look In" pane?
If the CD(s) are listed select a grouping that does NOT include them.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Would you mind doing a test search and be sure you set it for ONLY the C: drive. I'd like to isolate the problem to what appears to be a ZIP files problem and it's been so long, I can't remember what one might have to do to get XP to stop digging down into ZIP files.

    Hi again Al,
Well it seems odd it's looking for another disc. Normally if one have spanned an archive (zip) over several floppies etc, one would have those files on ... floppies etc. Not on the HDD.

To stop searching in compressed folders/ZIP files you would have to unregister zipfldr.dll, but then you would loose the functionality of the compressed folders. And need to reregister to get back. But it works perfectly if you have another zip program.

See my old question and thread; my solution <!post=here,264704>here<!/post>.

But still I would like to now why it asks for "last disc of a multi-volume set".

Yes, it happens when it's set to only the C: drive
