    Locked Files (Windows XP SP2)

    Hello.,

One of my users has some PDF files on thier local (C drive which we cannot delete, we get a message that another application is using this file. For the life of me I cannot work out which application this is. The application that created them was closed and the PC restarted with no luck.

Is there any way of identifying which process or applications are accessing a given file?

    Thanks in advance
    Nathan

The free utility Unlocker is frequently mentioned here.

BTW, were the replies to <post:=651,756>post 651,756</post:>, <post:=642,175>post 642,175</post:>, <post:=640,901>post 640,901</post:>, <post:=619,564>post 619,564</post:>, and <post:=614,482>post 614,482</post:> helpful? Since you didn't provide any feedback, other Loungers reading those threads don't know whether the problems were solved.
