Thanks!
I'm curious what other people's experiences with this version are - the initial release caused some problems (see the thread starting at <post:=654,322>post 654,322</post:>).
I'm not having any further stability problems with the Free version since about three updates ago. I am not happy with some of the interface:
1. parts of it behave counterintuitively (or perhaps I have no intuition), in that it doesn't always open the dialog I expect;
2. when I click to run the updates, the application response is very slow - nothing pops until the connection is made, leaving me confused about if I somehow "missed" the button;
3. the update system gets confusing when there are both application updates and definitions file updates.
But to repeat, it IS stable for me now.

Hans,
I generally agree with JohnBF. It seems stable and accurate enough.
The Update does seem to leave you up in the air as to weather it is running or not but outside of that looks OK to me.

Thanks, I may try it then - I've stayed with 1.06 up to now.
After reading this thread, I went to update as well. I've been at 7.0.1.2 so I went to their web site and downloaded the latest file. When I ran it from Windows Explorer, the install aborted with a message that the "...installer was not up to date..." or some words to that effect. I thought it was talking about the Windows Installer, but now I'm not too sure. After that abort, I instead ran my existing 7.0.1.2 and told IT to get any updates available. It did so successfully and so I think it was the AdAware installer that I was getting the complaint about.
My subsequent scan ran OK and the only thing of concern to me, since tracking cookies is all I usually have a problem with, is this one. It told me that I had a possible "browser hijack" element and offered to remove it. I did let it do so, but only after looking at the XML file that shows this:

I put that her as non-clickable on purpose. I don't have any idea what it is, since I don't use or ever visit any ALLTEL sites. I'm gonna poke around a little. In case anyone has any info that would assist, I'd appreciate it. With my conservative browsing, I have no idea what I have gotten hold of here...
Al,
Using that complete URL in your post, I was sent to a Windscreen Search page?
I dunno?
