    'Stuck' formula (2002, rel. 10)

I use a very simple formula on a pallet sheet to figure the weight for shipping our product. When I enter the number of piece in one cell, the cell with the formula is supposed to figure the weight [e.g. =SUM(G20*25+G22*8)] This has been working well; every time I made a change in G20 or G22, it figured the weight accordingly. For some reason, the formula has quit updating when I enter new figures. When I reentered the formula, it worked for that one time, but didn't when I changed it for the next PO#. I've tried protecting and unprotecting the sheet; still no go. I have several pallet sheet files with different vendor information; none of them work. What could I have done to the files?

    Select Tools | Options...
    Activate the Calculation tab.
Make sure that calculation is set to Automatic.

Fwiw... in case Hans' suggestion won't work: how big is your excel sheet?
I had Excel once show similar behaviour (and more weird things) when I tried to extend a model spreadsheet to some ten thousands of rows... and the file to > 20 MB on a not so powerful computer.
Unfortunately I can't remember what made it work again, besides shrinking down again to less data...

I've had a similar problem and when it doesn't calculate, I hit F9 which usually does the trick
