    Font Size (XP 2003)

    Good morning

I am creating a form in Excel and in some of the boxes I need some 'small print' that is just about readable (font size 4-6 maybe), I can use the shrink to fit option but as the text in the cells varies in length it looks messy as some fonts look like size 5, some 8 and some stay at 10. I have tried typing the text in word and then copy and pasting but it does not seem to work, does anybody have a work around for this.

    Cheers

If by 'form' you mean cells in a worksheet, you can just set the font size to 6 by formatting the cells?

    Thanks Rory

Sorry to sound dense but if I right click a cell and choose 'font' the smallest size it will allow me to have is 8 point, am I missing something?

    Cheers Steve

PS I also tried the shortcut you can use in word, that is by highlighting the text holding shift and then pressing the bracket sign [ which reduces the font 1 size eacj time it is pressed but this does not work either.

Enter a "6" in the box instead of trying to select...

You can just type a number in the font size box and Excel will display it if possible; you are not actually limited to the options in the list. I should have mentioned that in my original answer! <img src=/S/doh.gif border=0 alt=doh width=15 height=15>

It works in Word and PowerPoint too. You can even enter font sizes such as 8.5 or 6.5.
