I can't help but wonder if there's not some sort of digital rights management snooper built in. For the past few years I've eyed everything MS does with suspicion.

If I were a MS programmer, tasked with snooping on users, I think I'd have built my snooper right into the O/S. I'm sure they'd have thought the same way. Let the conspiracy theories commence ...

No, let's not, huh? Besides, we DO have to be careful of <!rule=11>Rule 11<!/rule>...

OneCare Is NOT a bad product, there just are better ones out there.

Did you not sign up to use OneCare when you had Vista Beta installed?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Oh yeah, I did. I hope you didn't misunderstand my posting the info, Dave. I'm not pro or con about OneCare. I suppose the only reason I got the email is that I DO have an earlier beta version installed.

Tongue in cheek, Al. I was trying to point out that MS wouldn't need to use some "cloaked" add-on if they did actually want to "spy". They could bury the capability deep inside the O/S. This being the obvious means to such an end, makes any of these conspiracy theories on things like OneCare rather pointless.

No problem, I was thinking that you were trying to figure out why they sent you a email. But I have NOT received one and we are using OneCare on our laptops, as there were NO other products out there at the time we bought our laptops.
When our subscription runs out we may not renew, as I said there are NOW better products.
