    Tile and Restore (XP)

I often tile windows horizontally or vertically to do a particular task. Usually this is for just 2 windows.

When I'm done, I'd like to restore those windows to their original size, usually some large but not maximized value.

Is there some script/utility that allows doing this? In other words, when I invoke the script, it notes the size of the windows. It then gives me a choice of how to tile (rather than using the windows approach directly). When I'm done working with the windows, I click on a "done" button and the windows are restored to their respective sizes before the tiling.

    TIA

    Fred

Right-clicking an empty part of the Windows taskbar gives you options for tiling and cascading windows. After applying an option, an Undo Tile/Cascade option appears.

If that is not sufficient for you, it would have been better to ask this question in the Software Finds and Wants forum. I can move the thread there if you wish.

    Hans,

    Thanks.

No need to move this. Undo Tile will work just fine. I have never noticed that before, probably because I never bothered to click the task bar after the tiling was done. I might have seen it if it was grayed out when there was nothing tiled.
