Profile (Vista Home)

Help! my HP Pavilion Laptop running Vista Home has started using a temporary user profile and a have lost passwords and access to the internet. The Vista help pages says to go on line for more information, how do I get online without passwords?

I can't speak for anyone else, but I am having a difficult time grasping what exactly your situation is? Can you describe what's happening perhaps with a little more detail? e.g., when you bootup the machine, do you see more than one Account from which you can choose to logon with? or does it do an auto logon to a totally foreign (not created by you) Account as if something/someone has completely taken over the machine?

Re: Profile (Vista Home)

When I tried to login to the damaged user profile to get the error message I now get a new problem!
I now get "The Group Policy Client service failed the logon" "Access is denied"

Re: Profile (Vista Home)

Let me ask again, (perhaps it's my old brain failing to "click"), but when you bootup your machine, do you see more than one "Account"? i.e., do you get the logon screen with two or more userpics you must choose from? I'm assuming that YOU configured this system and created only one Account for yourself, correct? But you are seeing two Accounts?

Thanks for any clarification.
