    Recovery Creator (Vista Home premium)

Hi! I just recently bought a lap top with windows home premium already installed. The store salesperson said not to use to download the recovery creator as backup. My sister said it was alright that is was just like shadows in the ultimate addition. Is it alright to download and use the recovery creator if my lab top were to crash. Thanks

Re: Recovery Creator (Vista Home premium)

Of course, I have no idea what "brand" of laptop you bought, but most of the major brands I configure and deliver to my clients have a built-in "Recovery Disc Creator" utility. For example, I am currently prepping a new Toshiba, Vista Home Premium laptop for a client and just now finished creating the 2-DVD set of Recovery Discs with Toshiba's own installed utility. It's part of the service I provide to my clients since most won't even know such a thing exists or that it is important to do. They are also getting "Acronis True Image Home 10" installed and configured also which is the ideal way to go. The Toshiba "Recovery Discs" are sort of a backup-backup which will allow them to restore the machine to its original state when they bought it. This is a nice thing to have on hand in case they ever decide to sell the machine. It will save hours of work having to uninstall all their installed applications, undoing any tweaks, addons, etc.

I would encourage you to search your laptop for a Recovery/Backup DVD creation utility. It just might already have what you need. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
