Microsoft Graph (customizing both axes) (Office 20

I am trying to customize both the horizontal and vertical axes on a Microsoft Graph chart within Word. Does anyone know how to do this? In essence, I want to use a line graph to show changes in two categories over time. It would not be a scatter plot but rather a line graph. Is it possible or am I limited to numbers on one axis? And if I am limited to numbers on one axis, is there another application I could customize in and import into Word? (Don't worry if you're not on a Mac, if you can tell me how to do it in Windows I can figure it out!)

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

I would create the chart in Excel - its interface for customizing charts is easier to use than that of Microsoft Graph. You can copy and paste the finished chart into the Word document.
If your x-axis values are date/time values, Excel will use a time axis automatically.
