Page load indicators never 'complete' (FF 2.0.0.5)

Installed FireFox 2.0.0.5 yesterday, having intermittent issues on certain web pages where the page appears to have loaded, but the "spinner" and the load status bar never show complete, and don't unload from the interface. Any ideas? (XP MCC, ZA Free, and Avast.)

Could you give an example of a site where this occurs?

It has not been consistent with different visits the same site. But an example of failure to complete loading was the link in <post#=661,694>post 661,694</post#>, cured by clicking the Refresh icon.

What happens if you clear your cache?

Oops, I just noticed that I'm still on 2.0.0.4. All links for downloading 2.0.0.5 that I tried time out - probably not the same problem

Your example works fine here (Fx 2.0.0.5). But I've seen this, every now and then, for quite a while (any Fx). Don't know what's the cause, but a guess; on these overloaded web portals, with gazillions of links to articles, media, ads it can sometimes happen that a connection to some server is slow.

For myself I would be oh so happy if they fixed this <!post=non-scrolling problem,586955>non-scrolling problem<!/post>, but guess it's part of how the browser works nowadays ...

I did that, and also the FF automatic updater seems to have run to do something or other, so perhaps I had an installation glitch. Things now seem to be behaving, for example this link:

is now loading to complete. Maybe I'm just too impatient?

Your cache was probably temporarily stuffed full of impatience

I thought that my ex-wife had cleaned out my cache.
