Changing Share Name for Shared Folders (XP Professional, SP2)

I have a network with three computers in my home. I want to change the "share names" on some of my shared folders (when I originally set them up, I chose some pretty stupid names).

Each shared folder's Properties dialog box shows me its "share name," but does not allow me to make changes to it. I've tried this with all the other networked computers turned off, but I still get the same thing.

How can I change the "share name" of shared folders on a computer?

As far as I remember, you can't "change" a share name. You remove it and create a new share to replace it. I've never checked, so there may be some utility somewhere that will do it, but it can't be any less "work" than doing it via Windows Explorer.

You need to remove the share and then replace it - it is not permissable to simply change the name.

    See LockerGnome for the nitty-gritty.

    Edited to add:
For reference, WinXPsolution.com has a good overview of sharing.
