Delete office clipboard (Word 2000+)

Exponents of keyboard make heavy use of Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V and Alt-Tab to copy and paste data between application windows.
The Office Clipboard toolbar pops up with a regularity that seems directly proportional to one's need to see the screen.
I have tried deleting the varmint, unsuccessfully
Sub DeleteClipboard()
CommandBars("Clipboard").Delete
End Sub

and while there is much VBA code out there to Clear the clipboard, I have as yet found none to delete the obstruction, short of reinstalling Office 97 (same bugs as 2000, but no clipboard toolbar, right?).
If anyone can push me in the right direction, I'd be grateful.

If the circled icon is what you are complaining about; I suggest that you go to Tools | Options | Edit in the application where you are copying, and uncheck the Show Paste Options buttons option.

You mention Word 2000+, but in later versions, there is no Clipboard toolbar. There is a Clipboard task pane instead, with an Options dropdown in which you can turn various aspects on and off.

MSKB article How to prevent the Office Clipboard toolbar from appearing when you use multiple Copy commands in any Office 2000 program explains how to suppress the toolbar.

Thanks, Don, but a permanent deletion is what I was seeking.
