Confused about arraging My Documents in XP (MY Documents)

When ever I add a new folder or file to My Documents in order for me to put My Documents in alphabetical order from A to Z I right click on an empty space in My Doc's to open

If you add a new file or folder while My Documents is open, it will be added at the bottom. You can press F5 or select View | Refresh to sort the items in the order that has been specified before.

Thanks Hans for your reply. Tried your info and it worked fine. I wonder why with a newer version operating system that MS did not hang on to some of the simplified operations they had in previous OS's?

What 'simplified operations' do you mean?

On our machines when ever we add a folder it will appear at the bottom of the list, but once we type in the correct name (edit "New Folder), it will appear in the correct order.

We use "Details" most of the time, and it just may be that you are using "Icon" (which I have never really liked or used) is why it is happening this way.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
