Latest date in a series (Excel XP)

My client has several columns of potential date entries--no way to know which, if any, will have data. At the end of the row they want to know the "last date entered" from any one of those cells. Seems like there should be a function to do date comparisons and determine the latest date in a series, but I can't find/remember the function in question. Can one of you helpful souls please remind me?

    TIA,

    Beej

If you mean the most recent date, you can use the MAX function, e.g. =MAX(A2:A100) or =MAX(A:A)
