Organizing by using outlook folders (Outlook98)

I have a stange problem. I am JUST starting to use the Organize by Folder functions in Outlook98. For example, I have a rule that looks for "Woody's" in the body of the email and then it is supposed to move the email into my Inbox/Newletters folder. HOWEVER, instead I am getting TWO copies -- one in the Inbox and one in the /Newsletters folder.

Instead of "moving" the email, it is "copying" the email. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

I have exactly the same problem and was watching for the response you got. Maybe it's meant to happen that way ??

OK - hadn't replied before because I don't know what's happening!
Have you had a look at the rule? (Tools | Rules Wizard, select the rule and it will be displayed in the Rule Description field of the dialogue box)
Does it actually say Move it to specified folder or Move a copy to the specified folder?
What is Inbox/Newletters folder? Does this mean Newletters is a sub folder of Inbox?
Sorry there are so many questions and no answers, but just trying to move it on.
Cheers

check the rule and make sure it copying - and if you have other rules that could apply to it, add a stop processing to the rule and mnove it to the top of the list.

The rule is very simple. It says this:

Apply this rule after message arrives with Woody's in the subject or body move it to the Newsletters folder.

"move it to a specified folder" is checked -- there is *NO check* in the box for "move a copy to the specified folder". There are no exceptions. It seems fairly straight forward. So why am I getting copies??
