Hmmmmm.

Probably nothing to do with it, but if you reverse the two right hand digits of the lower numbers of the first three fractions, the difference between the upper and lower numbers is in steps of 30 - i.e. 30, 60, 90. For the fourth fraction, you make no changes, and get a difference of 120. With fraction #5 , if you change the lower number from 372 to 237 you get a difference of 150. But I can't see what you would have to muck around with in #6 to get a difference of 180, so for me, it's #6.

uuummm, yyyeeesssss, hhmm what can I say

You are right to manipulate the digits in the denominator but you may have to the same in the numerator [hint]

If you "cancel" out the same digit in the numerator and denominator of each frakshun; i.e. take out the 7 in the first leaving 1/4.....using that criteria it is still #6 as that leaves 1/8 rather than having 1/4 for all the others it's early (for me) so I hope this makes sense.

Whew! I'm glad I didn't get it right! Cream in coffee? - that's bordering on blasphemy!

(Edited by gdrezek on 14-Sep-07 11:40. clarified the type of "half and half")
That's OK Leif.......I'm a pretty conservative (3-4 cups (10 oz. cups - most days) coffee drinker: Columbian, dark roasted, black, even when going into those fancy-schmancy coffee houses. However, my father wouldn't/couldn't drink it without at least milk (half and half (the U.S. dairy version not ) was preferable though), mixed in. Even skim milk when nothing else was available.
