    Protected document (XP)

First of all, so very good to have you guys back...

I have this word document that is protected. So much protected that I have no idea how to unprotect it.
Tools - unprotect document is greyed out, when I show the forms toolbar (it is a form), it won't let me do anything either.

I have to change 8 documents, and I'm running out of options. I know there is a password. When I open a form like this on the local network, it will ask me for that password. But now I have to make the changes on my own computer, it doesn't ask for the changes, its just there with everything greyed out.

Please please help because I'm getting very frustrated.

    Thanks for your help

    Re: Protected document (XP)

    Try the following:

    - Start a blank new document.
    - Select Insert | File...
    - Browse to the protected document.
    - Click Insert.

You should now have an unprotected copy of the document...
