    delete command (Access 2000)

    How can i delete all the records in the field1 from the table. ? I want to delete only the records in the field but not the row

    A record is a row, so if you delete records then you delete the row.
    I think what you want to do is delete the values from field1 without deleting the records.

    Do this by creating an update query. Create a new query based on the table, add just field1 to the grid, then change the query type to Update. (Go to Query in the Menus then scroll down to Update.) this will add a new line to the grid labelled "Update To" . Under field 1 put Null on this line. To actually run the query, go back to the Menus and choose Query...Run.

    I suggest you test this with some test data before trying with real data.
