    Dynamic report (2003 SP2)

I'm trying to create a form/report that gives the user the opportunity to open a report sorted according to values in combo boxes that are on the form.

I've had a go at the solution given for '97 (Here. No joy.

    Is this possible?

Helen Feddema has in her Access Archon (number 41) a sample for Access 2000. (I never use it myself so I can't say it's good or not)

I have attached a demo based on Microsoft's technique.

    Re: Dynamic report (2003 SP2)

Pardon my ignorance, but I'm having difficulty understanding how the report seems to close & re-open when the 'set order by button' is clicked.

I thought I could read the code & learn, but this one I dont' understand.

I can see how the sort SQL is built & how the report can use this, but the way the report accesses it in this dynamic manner has me baffled. <img src=/S/confused3.gif border=0 alt=confused3 width=45 height=45>

The report is not closed and re-open. Just the sort order is changed. What you see as close and re-open is in reality maximize and restore. Remove all the code in the report and you'll see the order changing.
