Fields in Word (Word 2003 / XP)

I have forms I've created in Word. The fields look like this: DOC VARIABLE "name" * MERGEFORMAT

I've gone through the forms and made sure no bolding was attached to the field.

However, when I create the forms (from an Access database), all the fields are bolded.

Any idea where to look next?

    Thanks

try specifying * CHARFORMAT instead of * MERGEFORMAT
and make sure that the text of the field code itself is formatted the way you want the result to appear.

I have seen a similar problem caused by updating fields when the Docproperty didn't exist, which caused the bold error message to appear, and then when the Docproperty was defined the MERGEFORMAT kept the bold formatting.
