Questions about VBA and VB (XL All versions)

    <img src=/S/hello.gif border=0 alt=hello width=25 height=29> Loungers

I am so glad that the Lounge came back, I missed you guys, specially when I have a special question that no one but the Lounge can answer, so here goes:

    1) How many VBA developers are there World wide, close estimate is fine?
1a) Any idea as the growth pattern, what was the number in 1993, 1995, 2000, 2005

    2) How many VB developers are there World wide, close estimate is fine?

    Thanks a Million

I doubt that there are reliable answers to these questions.

Because VBA is "free" inside Office, there is no real record on who used it. On the other hand, Visual Basic was by far the most successful programming language of all time. I'm sure Microsoft has published some statistics on that.

MS might have statistics on the number of licenses they sold for VB6, but many of these are site licenses or campus licenses, so it's hard to know how many people really use(d) it as a developer tool.
