    Re: Marco for Printing Labels Manually Automatically (Word 2003)

    Your best bet is to record a macro. To print through manual feed involves choosing the appropriate printer tray, and the number of this tray depends on the printer, so it is not possible to provide code that will work everywhere. When you record a macro, you'll automatically get the correct tray number into your code.

    Thanks Hans.

    But, how can I share that marco to work with other users default printers through out the network and also to make sure that once the label template is closed that there print setting resume to Automatically Select in the Normal.dot. All of printers are same, so the code should work for all. Please let me know your expert advice.

    Coild you do the following:
    - Record a macro of printing through manual feed.
    - After recording the macro, select Tools | Macro | Macros...
    - Select the macro you just recorded.
    - Click Edit...
    - You'll see something like

    Sub MyMacro()
    ...
    End Sub

    - Please select the text from Sub ... to End Sub.
    - Press Ctrl+C to copy it.
    - Use Ctrl+V to paste the text of the macro into a reply.

    Hopefully, I or someone else will then be able to suggest how to modify the macro to restore the default print settings. We can also explain how to make the macro available to others.

    Sure, it's:

    Sub AutoPrintLabelManual()
    '
    ' AutoPrintLabelManual Macro
    ' Macro recorded 10/2/2007 by IT NY
    '
    ActiveWindow.Close
    End Sub

    Thank you.

    I'm afraid the macro somehow hasn't picked up the print action - the only instruction is ActiveWindow.Close, which closes the active window.
    First select Tools | Macro | Record New Macro..., provide a name and click OK, then print the labels, and finally click the Stop Recording button.
