A belated welcome to Woody's Lounge!

Can you explain what you mean by a "switch code"?

    Re: switch codes (2003)

Sorry H, so focussed on my problem I didn't clarify it.
I am setting a field for numbering and wondered if there was a switch (such as for reset to 1: r1 ) that would allow me to insert a tab space (probably not the correct name) into the field.
Failing that, maybe there is a list somewhere showing possible switches - just in case I get all enthusiastic and want to do something fancy.

    TIA ...Kerry

    Re: switch codes (2003)

You can find information about switches in the help subject for each field; the same information is available on the Microsoft website. For example for the SEQ field, see Field codes: Seq (Sequence) field - click 'Show All' to see all information.

You can simply type a tab before or after the field. If you need a tab character inside the field, you can use the # switch to specify a number format - see Numeric Picture (#) field switch. If you need more help, we'd need to have detailed information of what you're trying to accomplish.
