    Mail Merge Format (2007)

When trying to complete a mail merge on Microsoft Word using a recipient list from Excel, if I am merging an amount of money e.g. amount of grant awarded the currency formatting does not carry over into Word, therefore leaving me to manually insert $ signs and commas for the thousands place.

Is there a setting in Word or a way that I can make sure the formatting is carried over?

    Please advise.

See <post:=641,008>post 641,008</post:>, it gives two different methods to solve this problem. It is for Word 2003; I don't know the exact equivalents for Word 2007, but it should be similar.

Thank you! That works great! I clicked on the field, pressed Shift + F9 to toggle the code, pasted in the custom format and presto I have the change.
