Outlook Express (6 SP2)

OE has decided that it doesn't want to reconize my email address, after over 10 years of using the same one.
What can I do to be able to send mail using my legtimate and current email address? I've reviewed Accounts and re-typed my address but that didn't help.

I consulted Comcast, my high-speed Internet provider and was advised to call Microsoft, as OE was not one of their products. My free tech. support expired years ago and I'm not about to give Microsoft any more of my hard earned money.

Thanks for any suggestions.

What error message are you getting?

If no error message what are you seeing that tells you that the email address id not valid?

What changes to your computer and/or OE have you made when this started?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Re: Outlook Express (6 SP2)

Dave: The error message was: This message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sende's e-mail address was: and it named the correct user name address.

But the message is moot now because I fixed it in Accounts. I remembered that the so-called Comcast tech had me uncheck, in the Connections tab, "Always connect to this account using." (I had contacted Comcast to help me fix the problem).

In the Advanced tab, he had me change "outgoingmail (SMTP) to 387, which I changed back to 25. When I clicked on Send all my backed up emails left the Send box. If that wasn't bad enough, he also wanted me to use the primary account holder's name instead of mine, which I refused to do.

So this thread is no longer active, and I really want to thank you for replying, I only wish I had remembered the changes made before I posted.

Re: Outlook Express (6 SP2)

This thread will probably be moved, but until then I must tell you about the reasons our remembers do not work. Our brains are so filled with past remembers that current remembers have no place to go, so the new ones drop out so that the past remembers can be drawn upon and looked back upon and make our days more bearable.

Does that make sense?
