Internet Explorer (PC/ Vista home priemum)

I am having a problem that I can not open a PDF file in internet explorer. I can on Netscape and from attachments in email but not internet explorer. I have tried to do a recovery but it always comes up with a note that says it had an error and to try a different date. I have done this 4 times with no results. I removed any windows patches from 9/18/07and up and still nothing will solve this problem. Can someone tell me what to do to get this fixed.

Which application do you use to view PDF files? Adobe Reader or another one?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling this application?

If you are using Adobe Reader go to Edit | Preferences | Internet and make sure "Display PDF in browser" is checked.

Re: Internet Explorer (PC/ Vista home priemum)

I tried that and it has a check on the "Display PDF in browser" box. One
thing I notice is that it shows Netscape as my default browser. I have
tried to change it but I can't. How do I change this?

    Thanks

Yes, I do use Adobe Reader. I have tried what you suggested but when I go to the web site to down load again I just get the Adobe Photo to download. Am I going to the wrong site? Please help.

The download site for Adobe Reader is Adobe - Reader Download.

In Internet Explorer go to Tools | Internet Options | Programs. In the "Default Browser" section click 'Make default".

When I go there the "Make Default" button is grayed out and will not respond to my clicking it. What now?

    Thanks

That means that according to IE it is the default browser. Can you post a screen shot of what you saw about Netscape?

Go to Controls and then edit your personal information.

I'm sorry but I don't see what you are telling me. I see nothing that says "Controls" or the icons that are in your attachment. What am I doing wrong??

    Thanks
