table into picture (MS Word 2003)

My wife was working with a table and entering text. She does not remember what happened, but somehow she turned the table into a picture. Now the table is not editable. Does anyone know how to change it back? Thanks!

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

Are you sure it is a picture?

If your wife accidentally protected the document for forms, the table would not be editable any more, along with the rest of the document (unless she also specified that some sections of the document shouldn't be protected). See if the Tools menu has an option Unprotect Document. If so, try it.

If the table really turned into a picture, I don't think there is much you can do about it - if you have a recent backup of the document, restore it.

Yes, I can right click on it and bring up the picture tool bar. Also, there are multiple tables in the file and other tables are ok.

I'll check to make sure the document is not protected. Thanks for the idea.

Perhaps she cut the table from the document, then performed a paste special as a picture?
