Macro won't run on half my machines (2003)

I have a database that has a Frontend and Backend. It is stored on a server and accessed by our whole team. We are in the process of moving over to this new database and have ran into a really strange error. On three of our machines, the database opens and runs as expected on the other four machines the database opens but will not allow any of the Macro's to run. It appears as though it does not recognize the built in references used in the macro. I have checked the permissions, the references and the macros and still cannot seem to find out why this is happening. I have even ran the restore on the personal preferences to see if it was a setting selected by the user and can not get the macros to run properly.

    One error message reads:
*The form you referenced may be closed or may not exist in this database
*Microsoft Office access may have encountered a compile error in a Visual Basic module for the form.

Any assistance would be appreciated. I have a little bit of a time crunch as we are suppose to transfer to the new database in a couple days. Thank you all for your help.

Do you mean macros in the Macro section of the database window or do you mean VBA code?

I have Macros in the Database section of the database, but they will not run on four of our machines and I cannot seem to figure out why.
Thanks for the quick response, Hans. I was hoping you would be on here today.

The database window has a number of sections, activated by buttons on the left hand side of the database window under Objects:

    Tables
    Queries
    Forms
    Reports
    Pages
    Macros
    Modules

There is no section named Database. So please explain exactly what you mean.

Re: Macro won't run on half my machines (2003)

In the database window, under the macros objects button. I have macros.

At startup, the Main Form opens. On this form there is a button that is set to run a macro on click (the macro is located in the macro section of the database as stated above.)

On my machine and two others it runs the macro, which opens the form and sets the value of a field on the form.

However, on the other four machines it gives the error message I posted earlier. I think it is a personal preference setting that the machines not working have set on them. You know when it asks you to allow you to do something like run macros and you choose yes always or no always and then it continues to run unless you find the setting and turn it off. I believe this is something like this.

I did use the Help > Detect and Repair Tool in Access and choose the Discard my customized settings and restore the standard settings option. This did not fix the problem.
I checked all the permissions on the logins and they are correct for each group. It doesn't matter who I login to the database as, the error is the same.

Please let me know if what I am posting is still not clarifying the error.

Have you checked whether there are references that show as MISSING in Tools | References in the Visual Basic Editor when you open the database on one of the problem PCs?

Re: Macro won't run on half my machines (2003)

I checked the references on one that worked and one that didn't work and they are exactly the same. I just ran the repair from Add/Remove programs on the MS Office on one and it resolved the problem. I am trying it on another machine now to see if it fixes the error also. It may have been a dll file that was corrupt or something. I am not really sure.
