    Table problem (Word 2002 SP3)

Hello all. I would be obliged to an Excel question if someone could assist with this Word problem: I have an 80 page document. A six column table runs through the entire length, except the 6th column for a new section I added at the end is missing. If I add a new column to the right, I then have a new column throughout the entire document. Any suggestions ?

    Two ways spring to mind.
Select just the rows in the new section and Insert Cells using the 'Shift cells right' option

    alternatively
Use the Draw Table pencil thingy tool to split the fifth column in the new section

You can then adjust the column boundaries so they all line up.

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

If I understand you correctly, you want to add a sixth column in the rows at the end of the document.
Select the last column in those rows where you want to add the new column (or select just to the right of the table in those rows).
Select Table | Insert | Cells... (not Columns!).
Select the option to shift cells to the right, then click OK.

Thx. I took the far right row, added cell to right and then copied the text from that cell into the new. Ok. Worked. Thx. I owe, I owe, its off to work ... (oh brother)... ; > )
